Somewhere

Somewhere, far off,
a baby cries.
Here, this morning,
six more die.
Somewhere, far off,
a mother sings.
Here, today,
the burning saline stings.
Somewhere, far off,
shines a love so bright.
Here, at this place,
little legs and arms
are kept from sight.
Someplace, far away,
rest little socks and little shoes.
Here, there is a slogan:
Women have the right to choose!
Somewhere, far off,
a little child is born.
Here, in this place,
we must mourn.
There's a place somewhere,
where babies cry -
Let's find it soon,
before they die.
